Paul Allison

Snare Drummer from Encinitas, California

Paul Allison began drumming when he was 10 years old at St. Thomas' Episcopal School in Houston, Texas under Pipe Major Mike Cusack. His brother played pipes, so he chose the drum. His early training came from Alistair Dowling as well as the other band members. While still at St. Thomas', he was fortunate to receive the best possible tutoring from the Maestro himself, Alex Duthart. Additional credits for his education include Bert Barr (who hosted the young drummer at the World Drumming Championship in 1989), Drew Duthart, Reid Maxwell, and Hugh Cameron. In 1985, he was the youngest member of the Band when it won the World Juvenile Pipe Band Championship in Scotland. He served as Drum Sergeant for his last 2 years at St. Thomas'.

After several years wandering in the wilderness, he found himself in San Diego where he joined The House of Scotland Pipe Band playing with Drum Sgt. Hamish Yuile. Due to a shift in work in 2007, Paul played with The White Hackle Pipe Band in Sacramento with P/M Bill Adams. He started with JJCMPB in 2010.
