In 2009 he spent a brief time playing snare with the L.A. Scots Grade 3, once again learning from Ed Best. Mike joined the James J. Coyne Memorial Pipe Band in 2010 as a side drummer and picked up a few things from Aaron Stewart and Dave Boyd. In late 2010, Mike took over the Drum Sergeant position. Mike is also currently the mid section instructor for the Pasadena Scots Pipe Band, as well as a side drummer.
