Loy Donaldson

Bass Drummer from Anchorage, Alaska

Loy started playing "percussion" at an early age with mixing bowls and spoons. Despite this, his parents allowed him to live long enough to move on to Orff instruments in the 3rd grade and later to orchestral percussion. He currently plays with the Anchorage Symphony, Opera, Civic Orchestra, and several smaller theater companies in town. He became interested in pipe bands after watching Crow Creek at the '07 Highland Games and decided to start taking lessons in Scottish Side Drumming. Loy joined JJCMPB in 2011 to play Bass.
