Amanda Hammond

Piper from Boston, Massachusetts

Amanda started taking bagpipe lessons while living in Canada. When her family relocated to California, she began taking lessons with Kevin Blandford at the R.P. Blandford & Son British Imports shop. Shortly after beginning lessons with Kevin Blandford, Amanda joined the Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band, then known as the R.P. Blandford & Son Pipe Band. Amanda has competed with the band at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland on three occasions. While attending school in Pittsburgh, Amanda also spent three years with the Carnegie Mellon University Pipe Band under the direction of Jimmy MacIntosh. Jimmy MacIntosh introduced Amanda to piobaireachd and upon her return to California, she continued her instruction with Ian Whitelaw.
